Bloggers of the world, unite.

what is blog and what is citizen journalism?

As public trust in the mainstream media has declined, while blogging has grown in popularity in western nations. He insisted that blog provided an unknown number of citizens the chance to express their opinions and contribute to an ever-growing media democracy.

I think personal blogs are in essence, FREE contents  to be presented in a organize  fashion and to end users. In this way, a blog is not a specific contents, its cost effective and specific type of presentation of content. Namely, bloggers can make a personal space and reach information easily and they also are able to participate in communication through this.

He said that the best blogs are by people, like the finest non-fiction writers, that political and ideology risks is the mainstay of provocative dialogue.

So not only are blogs not going away, these are likely to become more useful than ever. And i agreed his opinion that perhaps the future of online consumption is South Korea which is my country. Actually, I also think South Korea is one of the most net-savvy nation in the world the reason that we have variety online newspapers and exist internet cafes. On the other, Korean people are using their blog for private story, pics and just story of their life. I think we need to make a blog communication relatively neglected citizen's voice and concerns.

WHAT IS C.I.T.I.Z.E.N-J.O.U.R.N.A.L.I.S.M?

Journalism came into existence when reliable information was scarce. Nowadays, according to development of the mass media such as an Internet, people have the power to participate in communication through blogs and community groups in society. In this way, fundamental notions of journalism and journalist have changed in the world. As the invention of the technology, digital communication has continuously increased. Moreover, a new word, ‘citizen journalism’ by name, came into being. Advocates of citizen journalism argue that enforced ‘democratization’ of media undermines the need for, and therefore the power of, the mainstream media. Namely, all journalists are citizens are now journalist. Actually, view in the angle of public journalism, the news pattern of the existing journalism has laid stress on experts and elites, and relatively neglected citizens’ voice and concerns. Journalism to pursue citizen journalism should do a monitoring role by keeping a distance away from civil society.
